How to Make Deluxe Mac & Cheese with Ground Chicken Meatballs
Mac and cheese is the quintessential comfort food and with its cheesy goodness and uncomplicated flavours, it’s a favourite of kids and adults alike. Our version incorporates some much-needed protein into this classic dish with the addition of chicken meatballs.
For the meatballs simply combine all your ingredients into a bowl and gently mix until combined. We use a combination of bread crumbs, onion, egg, parsley, chives, Dijon mustard, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper and, of course, ground chicken, but feel free to experiment with you own flavours.
We prefer to bake our meatballs at 375ºF for approximately 20 minutes, (less mess!), but you can easily pan fry them on the stove for about 8-10 minutes per meatball or until the internal temperature reads 165°F.
The mac and cheese itself is made using only pot and requires no baking. Once ready to serve, top each bowl of pasta with 3 meatballs and sprinkle with a little chopped chives or parsley.
